Formerly Orange Digital, a standalone digital agency wholly owned by Orange, we have a long and successful track record of many years working in the highly competitive telecommunications sector. We became independent following a management buyout in October 2014, led by our CEO Pierre Briffaut to create a new company that was collaborative, nimble and flexible. We now have a presence in both London and Paris.
Hiveworks has been through an incredible transformation over that last six months. Over this period the business has sharpened its processes, organisational structure, proposition and new business strategy. We have seen success very quickly and have picked up new clients such as Total, Renault Banking and Vodafone.
We are looking for a motivated, pro-active, hands-on and enthusiastic BDD to drive new business in the UK, to hit the ground running with the new business strategy as well as to deliver ongoing improvements. This person will sit on the UK management team, report directly to CEO and will play a significant role in shaping the future of the business.

You are to ensure that there is a robust lead generation strategy in place that aligns with the company’s vision and aims. You are responsible for delivering this strategy and to generate qualified leads to the business. This responsibility includes the identification of leads within relevant roles and sectors, qualification as well as outreach. You are expected to direct and support others in the business where appropriate and will work towards a set of specified KPIs. There is an existing lead generation strategy in place, which you are expected to deliver against, as well as continuously improve based on regular reviews and feedback.
Convert New Business
You are to lead (or delegate the lead role) all new business opportunities, including commercial negotiations and handover/onboarding to client services. You will need to work closely with others in the management team to ensure we have:
- All the relevant insight needed to respond to the brief
- The right delivery team on the project
- An approach that relates to client’s needs regarding timescales and budget
Contracts and Frameworks
As part of your business development role, you are expected to lead and oversee the drawing up of procurement frameworks, RFIs, RFPs, SoWs and commercial/legal contracts. You are to ensure that all relevant contributors are briefed and given clear guidance on their roles.
Company Health Check
You should ensure that data pertaining to project delivery and commercial performance of new business and client accounts to ensure KPIs are being met. Where they are not, you are expected to work with others in the business to plan and drive forward any remedial action required, as well as report this to management team on a weekly basis.

You are expected to contribute to the development of company culture, bring this to life in the work that you do and the example you set for the rest of the business.
Benchmarking and Proposition Development
You will make an ongoing effort to benchmark the business against competitors, client needs and predicted trends in order to advise on the proposition and positioning of the business.
Skills and Approach to Support Vision
You are to work closely with Service Design Director to advise on the relevant skills required within the business to fully realise any new business opportunities.
You are to use insight gathered from your new business activity to inform how the Service Design team approaches a project brief. This may include guidance on timescales, resource, and budget.
Systems/Process and Implementation of Tools
You are to ensure that all systems in place to support commercial planning and business development are fit for purpose and working as effectively as possible.

You are expected to support the CSD where possible/required to assist with the planning and implementation of account growth strategies.
You are to ensure that all new business wins are successfully onboarded and that all necessary information is passed onto CSD and project teams.
